PRP is suitable for any one over the age of 18. Like many other treatments there are contra-indications, this will be discussed at consultation.
The procedure carries little to risk of reaction of rejection. Unlike dermal fillers and collagen stimulants PRP is self sourced and actively helps your skin repair itself and improving skin health, glow and complexion.
A course of treatemnts will be recommended, usually 3/4 at monthly intervals.
A small blood sample is taken from your arm or hand and it is treated in a centrifuge to seperate the red cells from the Platelets. The Platelets are then harvested using a closed sterile technique before being used.
The PRP can then either be reinjected directly into the skin or delivered into the skin using the eDS electronic dermastamp or after Open Channel Tixel Treatment
The entire procedure will take upto 60 mins which includes time for anaesthetising the skin, to make it more comfortable.
There will be a degree of swelling and redness for approximately 48 hours. During this time the skin is very sensitive to heat, sweating, cold, sun exposure, bacteria.
After 48 hours normal routines can continue and you can wear makeup.
Aftercare skin care will be provided for your use.
